The Research Works Act (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.3699:) argues that publishers have intellectual property invested in work that they publish so making research available open access are illegal.

While a press release by the Association of American Publishers (AAP) states:
…. The Research Works Act will prohibit federal agencies from unauthorized free public dissemination of journal articles that report on research which, to some degree, has been federally-funded but is produced and published by private sector publishers receiving no such funding. It would also prevent non-government authors from being required to agree to such free distribution of these works. http://www.publishers.org/press/56/

This is a collection of online reference works and educational resources in history, multicultural studies, and contemporary culture.

• World History: Ancient and Medieval Eras: reference work covering Ancient and Medieval Eras of early human history around the globe from prehistoric times to the beginnings of the Renaissance. Contains nearly 8,500 primary and secondary sources, including selections from the Code of Hammurabi, the Edict of Milan, and Marcus Aurelius’s The Meditations; and more than 1,500 biographies of important historical figures.
• World History: The Modern Era: electronic history reference materials covering a broad range of topics in depth from the evolution of modern Europe since the Renaissance; concurrent developments in Asia, Africa, and the Islamic world; the global impact of the Industrial Revolution; and the last 100 years of conflicts and international cooperation.

• American Indian Experience: provides in-depth historical accounts and cultural information about the indigenous peoples of North America. Content includes hundreds of primary documents and media, including treaties, speeches, and captivity narratives as well as traditional storytelling, a wealth of maps, photographs, and video.
• World Religions: a comprehensive reference resource covering religion across the globe, encompassing matters of belief, practice, celebrations, and holidays; important individuals and events; significant and sacred places; and much more.

Also provided separately by ABC-CLIO via the Daily Life Online platform is:

· World Folklore and Folklife : a multidisciplinary, multimedia electronic reference work covering folklore traditions and the development of traditional cultures worldwide. Intended to support curriculum in the areas of world culture, history, arts, literature and language. Folktales are searchable by subject, tale type, region, and country.

The CHAOS Knowledge Center contains 100 best practices needed to develop and maintain a successful project management environment. It is fresh and always up-to-date with the latest thinking on the most important things that your organization can do to foster greater project management leadership.
The CKC offers four major deliverables:

1. Best Practices: The best practices collection is organized around the 10 CHAOS Success Factors or Lessons Learned. Each lesson has 10 focus points.
2. HowTos: Supporting each of the points are suggestions on how to use the best practices and implement them in your organization.
3. CHARTS: Supporting the points is a collection of over 400 charts on data collected with the CHAOS research project.
