This Semester 2009, QUT Library has been trialling an information skills program called Info Scholar. There are five Australian universities involved in the Info Scholar trial, Curtin University of Technology, University of South Australia, RMIT, University of Technology Sydney and QUT.
Trial cohorts at QUT are the following:-

Access to Info Scholar is via Blackboard, at the Community site link.
This online resource will assist students in developing advanced information retrieval skills which will be invaluable to them in their studies. The modules cover the following topics:

■Tracking research
■Searching the internet
■Evaluating information
■Keeping up-to-date
■Managing information
■Writing and publishing
■Citing sources
Feedback on the access, design, content and usefulness of Info Scholar in the research process is being obtained as part of the evaluation process of the Program.
