This Semester 2009, QUT Library has been trialling an information skills program called Info Scholar. There are five Australian universities involved in the Info Scholar trial, Curtin University of Technology, University of South Australia, RMIT, University of Technology Sydney and QUT.

The National Library of Australia, in collaboration the Australian State and Territory libraries, has commenced a program to digitise out of copyright newspapers.
This free online service will enable full-text searching of newspaper articles.
This will include newspapers published in each state and territory from the 1800s to the mid-1950s, when copyright applies.
The first Australian newspaper, published in Sydney in 1803, is included in the Program.
3.5 million articles are now available and full-text searchable in the beta service.

Funds are now available in the LRA Coursework Monograph Fund for all schools within the Business Faculty for 2009 to allow for the purchase of books, DVDs, e-books, software. Please send us any requests you have for the purchase of relevant coursework books as soon as possible. If you would like multiple copies, or if you would like the title to be held in the course reserve collection (two hour loan) or reference collection (not for loan) please specify.
Please indicate also if there are any areas of the coursework monographs collection you think need developing.

QUT Library is pleased to announce Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is now available for New Titles added to the collection. Just go to http://www.library.qut.eud.au/about/recentlyaddedtitles.jsp RSS is available for every faculty and for most schools. New feeds are being added regularly. At http://www.library.qut.eud.au/about/recentlyaddedtitles.jsp click on the RSS icon for the School of interest. Copy the URL. I use Microsoft Outlook for my RSS feeds. Open Microsoft Outlook. Right mouse click on RSS feeds. Select Add a new RSS feed… Paste in the URL and click Add. When it asks you Add this RSS feed to Outlook select Yes.
